Between the Drops

This day I walked between the drops
The plops and flops of water whops
They fell about me large in swell
Mostly cause I ran like hell.

I made the shelter of a Mall.
Heard the echoes of a call.
And then a warm and friendly pat
She took my hat and then we sat.

I ordered coffee and we talked
She took my hand and then we walked
She kissed me on the cheek and said
I got to go and then she fled.

It seemed to me a bit unreal
It had the feeling of surreal
How could a moment of a dove
Make me feel I was in love.

But magic happens everyday
And we married that very May.

Wow Seymour, what rhythm of joy. I love this and I am tempted to say Noah's words ... kiss (on cheek!).

This is a great story and very well told!  Who says rain isn't romantic?  KJ

Good morning to you, Dear Sonneteer!

First you had me giggling--and then you had me oooing and awwwing. Rather enjoyed the gamut of emotions this wonderful poem evoked in me!

A will-o-the-wisp, such as yourself, would easily slip between raindrops...

Peace & Love,

Oh, Seymour...
I loved this romantic rhyme.
So sweet. Aren't you glad that
you got caught in the rain that day?

Oh, and I'm glad that the
"magic is still happening every day"

Thank you for sharing your
heart with us, friend.........
