The sky lights up in a fury of blue,
casting a mysterious shadow upon the world beneath it.
A lightning bolt touches down,
it stirs even the most powerful of souls.

Half way around the world and this is supposed to matter,
across an ocean and we are supposed to care.
Isn’t it funny how we think real hard, and try to find a fitting answer?
It’s amusing how life revolves around questions based on pure diplomacy.

War is not the answer and war is not right,
but it must occur in spite,
of all the small people, who have big opinions,
about our nation and it’s territorial dominions.

So rest your eyes and rest your mind,
cause the tide will soon change,
whether you spread your redundant message or not.
For now, just look up at the sky and observe it’s forgotten beauty.

Contemplate stars instead of weapons.
But above all,
try to put all this behind you, without losing sight of it.
Try and live.
