standing on a shadow's lace

Mercy

I find myself encased in the capsule
and looking to a place beyond the glass
I have seen where the sun bends down touching
but there is a prison where invisible barriers lie
as if some clear wall separates the two
the living on one side and the watching on the other
and for now I am but a guest at this event
looking for a door in which to enter
where need has passed yearn
I have lost my patience for being invited
at eye level I can see the green
but can not feel the tender
mercy, I now beg for mercy
I want to dance in the breath of sun
to reel in rays painting skin colors
for I tire of etchings drawn so clear
to where my prints are the only things
left to show the visible from the invisible
grant me now this passage
to slip over lines and past walls
where I have been allowed to sip sights
let me eat so I can fill this hunger
where I have no fear of walls or ceilings
and can breathe in the sunlight

Helen, this is a very emotional
poem. I could feel it.

There is a seat at the table for you and dinner waits to nourish your hunger and thirst
But first you must smile and say more then a word or two.

Like touching the glass screen and finding yourself on the other side of it. Beautiful.
