“MORE FOLK FROM SHOOFLY JUNCTION”
by

When I lived there I had a hot rod Ford,
use to go like a bat out of, well you
know what I mean, don’t know which
was more wild that car or me, cause I
use to tear up them roads with Frankie by
my side, m’mmm, now there was a good
looking woman…

Used to go to all the small bars with dance
halls in them, she didn’t do the drinking
though, I did all of that, but she kept me
from myself, she loved my sexy dancing
if I may say so, heck wonder what
ever happened to her, did hear she
went to Ohio when I was in the
Navy and I lost track…

One night we ran into Moonshine Slim,
he was the guy with the moonshine, wow
that stuff was strong, put hair on a
woman’s chest it would, let alone mine,
offered some to Frankie one night and
she took a big swallow, well I thought she was
gonna faint right there, she almost stopped
breathing, but she wasn’t a drinker anyway,
I did take a look at her chest but didn’t see
any hair there from that shine, geez…

Anyway there’s so much more doings that
I remember from Shoofly Junction that I
may have to just keep writing about it
forever and ever, well only as long
as the memory works that is, but I’m sure
I will never run out of stories about those
folk I used to know and that live there
in that little place called Shoofly Junction…

Bill,

I sure am enjoying your poems about the folk of shoofly junction. This is just delightful. I would have loved a ride in that ford too, and I bet you were more wild than the car. Weren't we all when we were younger, okay, maybe not

Bill, I'm sure glad that you can write
about Shoofly Junction on and on, because
I will never tire of it. It really is
delightful, and I feel like I'm getting
to know some of those characters you're
introducing us to.....

Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Sounds like the kind of places that I remember too.  I always wondered what ever happened to that hairy chested gal?  Probably joined the circus.  Great story.  I enjoyed this alot.

Bill I'm sure that you did a thorough check all over Frankie's body to make sure no hair was growing anywhere after drinking Slim's moonshine...I used to know a woman named Frankie when I lived in France...James
