Laugh at me if you will
of the way my mind spins
opposite normal rotations

I am in touch with lost feminity
does that make me gay
I am touch with my own mind
I don't need to be told
what to think"

If you go by first impressions
I am sure quite a bore
blank slate
hollow eyes

Peel back the flesh
with fishhooks
to see the freak beneath
yuppie skin

One day the evil creature beneath
may surface
will you die in shock
or smile out of confirmation
of suspisions

Brother
Sister
Please Pray for me during
the waking hours
on bended knee
to your intangible
deity of narrowmindness
for my salvation to your brand
of what you call normalacy
which I call disease

I soon will shed my shell
for true skin
trading mediocrity for ironic beauty

I stop
smile and wonder
"imagine" if you will
a world without bariers
where we all could truly be
the funky freak inside

Only for the easily scared - as one who has learned the art of "passing" for normal, I'm smiling.

*Ironic raised eyebrow*-will it be that odd when it comes? I like the poem.

Interesting...do you think we all hide behind what we feel is socially acceptable?  I would love to say I don't, but that isn't true.  We all have different "skin" for different settings.  To me that makes it fun to figure out the person's true character...

Dan, not scary, just graphic imagery which is how you write and that is a very good thing.

Even "angels" have twisted creatures lurking deep inside! But we're not brave like you, and we keep those creatures locked up inside so no one--including ourselves!--will ever see them! ---Boo! ---whoops! One of them just escaped from me! tehe

Your view of life and living, intrigues me. I find the view through your eyes is very interesting. You put a different spin on things. Sometimes, you make me a little bit dizzy--but that is not a bad thing.

Brad - goodness this for me as well:

of what you call normalacy
which I call disease

The ones who are deemed blind are but the ones who truly see . . .

This is awesome  xxoo
