Waiting For Return

lulled by layers
of winter’s lace
pulled tightly
to cover edges
patience becomes
anticipation frozen
a thing suspended
remaining in halt
and just as
I have waited
through winter
I now linger
in expectations
of occurrences
to be crowned
in daffodils

Waiting for someone special is a wait worth while. But is not fun to do for any length of time.

Yes, that is what I am ready for.  Springtime is such an extraordinary place to be caught up in.  Wonderful words my friend.  Like a breath of fresh air.

Daffodils are my favorite flower. When I lived in Michigan, they were often the first flowers to bloom in the spring and it was always a welcome sight.

Good job!

Helen,
How I miss those acres of daffodils! What a fabulous write. I love it. Here's my vote.

Spring is blossoming where I am right now, and it is so beautiful. Your poem brings to light this wonderful occurance.
