TRANSITIONAL ABYSS

In the tranquil dark of night
a devoted family man fell asleep
Sometime before morning light
from in his dreams a demon did creep

Voices drifting with the breeze
in the midst of the quagmire called life
Meandering among the trees
Moss shrouds the sanity causing strife

Concealed within the shadows
piercing the sphere of ones perception
acquiring all tomorrow’s
Leaving behind only deception

Far down south in the bayou
Bags packed calls he did not make
Values unhinged living now askew
a known stranger did wake

Wow, this is a very dark and somewhat layered write. Enjoyed the read of this, although, I'm not quite sure I get it.
