My Mother

My mother was a pretty woman.
And tried her best to do what’s right.
She was a gentlewoman
But forced beyond naïve in sight

She had a kindly gentle face
But stern with all that she would say
With eyes that flashed a fires trace.
To light a path and make our way

I know her disillusionment
A perfect life does not exist
But she never shared resentment
Nor did she spread illusions mist.

She let her children see the dove
With velvet glove upon the seem
The rainbow in the sky above
And grace within its every dream.

She’s my love; beyond the smother
Forever, my pretty Mother

This is a beautiful tribute, Seymour. *S* Times weren't always good around my mother... but I still miss her very much. *S*

And now... if anyone asks, I can just blame the mist in my eyes on the fog that's blanketing us... right? *S* Excellent work!

You are truely blessed
to have such a loving mother.

A touching tribute for sure, Sy.

Sy,

"She let her children see the dove"

One of the most important things a mother can do for a child.

Wonderful tribute to your mother.

Enjoyed, hugs, Pat

This is a fine tribute, friend,
Sounds like you "raised" her well.

Mine is now gone, but I feel much the same.  Thanks for bringing to life for a moment.  Ken
