~*~

In the hills of Tipperary,
I spied a beautiful fairy,
It trilled sweetly to me,
"I'm a he, not a she,
My name is Larry, not Mary!"

Love limericks the more that I read
Although some seem to lack rhythm's need
They are spiced rather nice
by the drink once or twice
of the green Irish brew they call mead.

There once was lady from Nantucket
who drank all her beer from a bucket
one day she got ill
with no miracle pill
so now in the ground she is tuck-ed

Captain ~

It is unfortunate that the lady had not met the man from Nantucket! He might have been able to put a smile on her face and she wouldn't have drank herself to death!

Thanks for joining in the spritely spirit!

once with a shamrock of green
O'l Bill did hunt for his dream
he found her one night
in a dress fit so tight
when he pinched he she didn't e'n scream

now bill was of the roguish sort
and many a woman he did court
but his dream he did find
when he pinched her behind
and she bagged his head with a quart

Captain Limerick ~

There once lived a captain called "Hair",
Who spent all his days in a chair,
He wrote plenty of rhymes,
Of both good and bad kinds,
But his humor he wrote with a flare!

Loved your limericks, Dear Captain!

Warm Irish hugs,
EA

Sue ~

Glad you enjoyed the limerick! It's the Irish in me! Actually, the fairy was really quite annoyed with me because I had mistaken him for a member of the gentler gender!

Top of the evenin' to ya, ya little darlin'!
Here's a limerick I am writing just for you!

In Boston there once lived a dame
And Martha was her real name
From New England she hailed
On blue pages she sailed
And her po'try brought her great fame!

Sending you warm Irish hugs and lots of shamrock good luck!

Sweet dreams!

I would think Larry WOULD be offended... you're telling his secrets and you KNOW Bal or Toe will give him grief! LOL

There once was the loveliest miss
Who promised her true love a kiss
But a problem deciding
Means she's now residing
With the whole bunch who promised her bliss!

This one's just  for you!

There once lived a lad named Kenny-o
He was witty and charming and merry-o
He'd kick up his heels
And spin all his spiels
Spreading joy and laughter where'er he'd go!

Happy hugs,

I bumped into an elf in old Eire-
a green coat and red cap his attire-
I stepped on his toe,
said, "Excuse me, miss," No
wonder my ears are on fire.

I loved your limerick.

There once lived a pilgrim named Nan

When the winds would blow
Away they would go
Showing Nan was really a Dan!
