Kiss me darling
Kiss me
And pretend you love me
Put my picture
On your antique coffee table
So your mother will stop
Worrying about you
When we are at the Bistro on Main
Flirt with me
With abandon
Like you could tear off all of my clothes
And make love in front of shocked patrons
Drive home
Kissing passionately
And make believe you want me
Like some sex craze animal
Faking every orgasm
Like some cheap porn star
Buy each other "thoughtful" gifts
From Hallmark
And keep telling yourself
I'm all you ever wanted
The prince charming from
Your every fairy tale
Fake a cheesy smile as we stand
In front of the preacher
And fool our families
So nobody will know our secret
Have a few picture perfect kids
Lexus
Good job
Hey when the kids move out
We could just divorce
And stay "friends"
Maybe if we believe long enough
We'll wake up in love
And if nothing else
We'll both agree
That it was one heck of a fantasy.

So many variables...we think we're in love but its just lust...we want to fall in love but we can't find the right person...we are in love but the other person isn't...
If we don't fall in love is it from a lack of trying or is it a feeling that can't be forced...and wanting it so bad we take the risk that we have found it...when we haven't.
One thing is sure...matters concerning love can be beautiful and they can be heartbreaking...james

I found this sad, you see I for one believe in the sanctity of..snicker..marriage. It's a beautiful and holy..snicker..gift and I do believe it is as relevant today...snicker...as it was a thousand years ago...roflmao...

After reading Raphs' sincere reply "snickers", I must add that I must have been lucky in that I know my wifes' love is sincere, and am sad for anyone that must settle for less.A very good write.

Pretense would be good enough some days . . .
when there can be far less.
"Enjoyed" this,  sort of.

Brad, I wasn't even going to say anything, because I  once felt this way and don't want to ever feel this way again. If a person loses hope that they will one day be happy, they've lost everything. I'm not saying that a person has to have another person to be happy, either. But, going through the pretense of happiness means nothing. If they have to do that, then they should not get married and just stay single.

That's why I started not to reply. I knew that once I got started, I wouldn't want to shut up. But, I will, because we all have our opinions in life, don't we?
