Another year scratched
into wall of mortal cell
Shamrocks and fishes
offer little solace
when emerald fields
lay dead in drought
too far removed to
swim in ocean embrace
another orbit
another ring of tree
another reminder
how far away
I am from me

I like the honesty of this poem.

Raph:  I do know how you feel - after 20 they all just meshed into each other.  This line:

how far away
I am from me

You are closer than you think  . . .  xxoo
As always - leaving me speechless with your words

(oh and you can hit me later - I promise:
Happy Birthday!

I like this one, especially the last five lines. Creative and evocative both.
