i sat in front
of the tv today
inundated
by images of
insanely happy
people
and their
blinding
white teeth
telling me
i needed
the physically
impossible large
burger
a chiseled
and hairless
male model
reminded me that
maybe I'd had
one too many
hocking
the newest
fitness craze
i watched as
women lunged
at men who
happened to
chew the
latest
icy fresh gum
did you know
beer can induce
a party
in even the
most stoic
atmospheres
I cringed
at the woman
spraying half
a can of
dissinfectant
on a door knob
as if it'd been
contaminated
with ebola
and wondered
if ebola was covered
in the 99.9 %
of germs it killed
I'd had enough
when i learned
that cereal science
had developed
a longer lasting
crunch
convinced the
world had gone insane
everyone
should know
cereal tastes better
soggy
I'll sleep instead

HAHAHA, but maybe it's not so funny.
Turn off that stupid machine and write, or sleep, or do almost ANYTHING else.
LOL at Karen's reply, and Jason's too.

I had a neighbor in California years ago who got so pissed at those retarded commercials he actually picked up his 'perfectly good' TV and threw it into the trash dumpster outside our apartment! (It only stayed there for about two minutes though.)
anyway, Raph, je comprends. And I really HATE those bleached teeth commercials!

Raph sweety - thats why I dont watch - never - I have enough trouble dealing with my own warped thoughts let alone those of the utterly insane who seem to "rule" this world - as the man himself once said late  one evening:

"Wow - I'm sick of doubt . . ."
Listen to adagio - he understood - he did . . .

This is amazing - in my head tonight with your words - as always xxoo

---and that's the way it is, folks!

They say that a country's commercials are mini-reflections of that society--if that be the case, methinks we're in trouble!

Well done!

Sweet dreams!

this why one can read and watch TV at the same time

15 minutes of show/15 of muted commercials.

its funny, the attentions span of your line length is congruent to that of the tv ads you are angered by - freudian slip?

Linda we are in trouble no doubt

Karilea I know, but they are owned by the same company and do contain the same formula for sensationalism and crap..but then so does CNN and every other station now

Majnu not a slip, intentional, wanted it disjointed and rapid fire like the images on tv

Soggy cereal? Are you kidding? I use so little milk in my cereal and I eat it soooo fast so it doesn't get soggy! *L

thank you Tammy i avoid it as much as possible

Lauren i used to love my media studies courses but it became too much for me take. Naomi Kleins book No Logo drove the stake further into the heart of the matter add all this to my enormous cynicism and well you get these rants

Chanson you're insane lol its a matter of opinion i guess but for me nothing beats soggy, not too soggy but just right
