Caught in a web
Of my own creation
Those tangled vines
That hold me still
Each time I turn
One falls in place
Binding me close
In its hated embrace
My struggles are useless
My thrashing inane
Though my fighting
Is ceaseless
My energy drains
I’m a fly in a web
The threads are my life
And the spider that weaves
Is the core of my mind

Yes, hate is deadly. Well done, Laurenel.
Snakes...I don't hate them, but I'm not terribly fond of them either 'cept for the garter snakes.
