All alone on that cold dark night
Armed with only a dim flashlight
The bushes rattled very near
Causing me to shake with fear

Being brave I stood my ground
Then began to look around
When I saw just behind the bush
Poor old Toe’s naked Tush

I laughed a bit but then he told
How mean old ‘Deer had taken his clothes

It seems the two were out on a hunt
And bragging about their last big stunt
When a bear of enormous size
Had stepped from the brush to their surprise

Now ‘Deer told Toe “this could be bad”
But reminded him of another time he had
When all that saved them was acting crazy
But he could ‘member all it was a bit hazy

“I think if we just distract him here”
Continued on the wise Balladeer
“I can reach safety in the truck”
(Old Toe just stared a bit dumbstruck)

“Take off your clothes then stand real still”
“When I run to get over the hill,”
“I’ll toss them at the bear and he’ll”
“get confused which’ll give me time
“to think up a real good rhyme.”

Toe understood the game being played
That with ‘Deers rhyme they could get away
Cause everyone knows they’ll lull you to sleep
With out ever having to count sheep.

Well Toe disrobed and then found this bush
While Deer took off trying to save his tush
Seems the rhyme old ‘Deer was thinking
Got kind of clouded by all his drinking

The bear caught ‘Deer in just a few strides
So Toe stepped up and began to try
Now the bear heard Toe and began to shake
The rhymes so bad they made the old ground quake

‘Deer took off  being quite rude
leaving poor Toe  standing there Nude

Moral of the story….
Well you can’t talk about morals and those two in the same story
So there isn’t one….

Well, you certainly have this one right, Hair. Toe's poems have always been, er, unbearable!

Now I know why you write in free verse!!
