The sound of sadness

While walking one night with a fine little girl
The roses’ fair scent gave my nose such a swirl
The iris and glads gave a life to the town
The question she asked of me gave me a frown

”Now what is that sound”, as she giggled so dear
This grandchild of mine that I just barely hear
”Which sound do you hear, child?” I wanted to know
But couldn’t discern ‘mid the traffic’s loud flow

It cheeps with a click, so she spoke of the sound
If ears could but squint, I would listen profound
To cheeps and to clicks; and this problem I’d lick it
For what she heard clear, but not I was a cricket

(big hugggssssss) Oh Ken, this is so very sad, sweet friend, it is difficult to see our loved ones grow up and have children asking us questions and trying our best not to feel heartbroken or break their hearts with the truth! (sad sigh) This is a very touching write, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ken, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

There may be sadness here, but this has such a lilt to it that it makes it bittersweet, not sad, to read.

To Ngoliant and Maureen
And Enchantress ever keen
For reading my words you've seen
I say thank you with all full mean.
