~*~
A hint of Springtime
is felt in the air
With signs of its appearing
seen everywhere

The grass looking greener
upon the lawn
Birds with their songs
we hear at break of dawn

Green leaves are sprouting
on each of the trees
Beautiful flower buds
we're beginning to see

Soon roses of yellows
pinks and reds
Azaleas on their bushes
petunias in their beds

The fragrance of gardenias
will soon be all around
And beautiful wisterias
almost hanging to the ground

Soon the Easter clothes
with colorful hats of Spring
Children hunting decorated eggs
as they gleefully sing

For a hint of Springtime
is felt in the air
With signs of its appearing
seen everywhere
~*~

This is a delight, gg... it's time for winter to slither on out and let the renewal take place. *S* Even if spring only lasts about a week around here... it'll be hot soon! *S*

Then there's the wheezing,
The coughing, the sneezing
The boxes of kleenex always close at hand
But beauty bursts everywhere
Hope hushes woe and care
Hearts feel a joy as spring takes the land.

Hi Ethel...we have had a few false springs here in Southern California, and no real winter.  Still, I look forward to the beauty of it...as your poem describes.

Yes! Isn't it wonderful! Lovely poem, but you left out my runny nose and eyes. And the knee-high mustard weeds. Sigh.

Spring can't get here soon enough. We've had such a long, dark and cold winter.

Yes it is in the air. And, I often think about the tulips and my other flowers I had to leave behind.

ah yes spring is beautiful. This morning just after five AM or so I went for a walk, since I was up anyway. It was pouring rain, but the birds were out and chirping and woodpeckers pecking and frogs everywhere! A bunny even crossed the road ahead of me!
So beautiful!

Karilea,
The birds really do get happy, don't they?

j0n4th4n,
Glad that you thought it was a nice and feel-good poem...

Capt. Ron,

Noah,
We've had warm temps, too...may be the reason for the afternoon thunderstorms. I'll be glad when those are gone, because I unplug my computer when the lightning is so bad. I hate having to do that, too.

I like Easter egg hunts, too. Our Church has them every year for the kids and some of us "kids at heart" join in.

Chris,
I'm glad that your snow is finally melting.
Yeah, I really love your web pages and am going to go back there real often.

Dixie,
I'm glad that you thought it was nice. How are you doing?

Marti,
Oh, I know that Massachusetts has had a terrible winter. My daughter has been telling me about how cold it's been, too. I hope it's almost over for ya'll.

Eric,
thank you for thinking it's beautiful. That's sweet

I really appreciate all of your sweet comments. Ya'll are so nice.
Heart hugs to all,
Ethel

Virginia,
you probably will never know just how much I appreciate your saying those things about a poem I've written. As I've said before, most of the time, I feel very inadequate at writing. Thank you very, very much.

Pat,
Oh yeah, I know about the thunderstorms. We've had them here every day for about a week and are expected to have them at least the first part of next week. The sun has been shining really pretty in the mornings, then the thunderstorms, with lightning and hail on some days. I'll be glad when those stop. I always unplug my computer when the lightning is so bad. I don't like to have to do that......

Sue,
I think tulips are so pretty, but I've never tried to grow any. Have you started a tulip bed where you're living now, or will they grow there? Maybe so.

Gemma,
I'm glad it made you full of excitement and happiness....and much love to you, too, sweet Gemma....

I really do thank all of you and appreciate each of you very much.
Heart hugs to you all,
Ethel

Paul,
thank you, Sir. Yeah, the flowers do put on a beautiful show for us, don't they?

Alyssa,
I know.....we've been having lots of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoons, though sunny in the mornings. But, birds even like to sing in the rain, don't they? And, aren't the little bunny rabbits cute?

Connel,
I'm glad that you thought it was a great write. Thank you for the hand-clapping, too.

Hope,
thank you for thinking it was a beautiful description. I appreciate that. And, isn't it amazing how the times of year are so different in different parts of the world? The seasons in different parts of the world would be an interesting subject to study, wouldn't it?

Thank you all for reading and replying to my poem. I appreciate each of you.
Heart Hugs to you all,
Ethel
