I stand to walk to watch out the window,
The creaking floor marks my passing,

I watch the sun to push back the shadow,
The standing there hear morning birds,

The birds they drift to ground near old snow,
Remnant of weeks gone by of bitter cold,

Cold of ice and snow melting away,
Spring birds know of the warming

To warm a bit with each passing day,
Yet the Crocus have yet to bloom.

I watch the sun that comes for longer stay
Yet the freezing may have a blast

Sun beams through ice reflects in early play
A tree branch wind taps my window,

The light races across to my window
Rising higher than the buildings

I wait for spring to be with warming blow
Through open shutters and window

The time to come rushes closer each day
As another winter goes slow away.

Gloom

Nazm
An Indian / Pakistani form derived from the Ghazal which was introduced from Persia.
A string of couplets, relating one to the next by content which may number any number of couplets. The subject must remain the same through out and couplets are often sentence fragments or incomplete thoughts, where it is continued from the pervious or to the next couplet. Subject matter tended to be of everyday life or nature.

I wait for spring to be with warming blow
Through open shutters and window

I opened a few yesterday to get some fresh air into the house...

nice Ghazal (not one of my favorite forms, though it fits your style of writing)
