I stand, a mere and humble man
before you, you that judge and condemn.
I stand proudly, though countless stones
have been cast against the wearied flesh
of my bones.

I am tired, my will wanes, my resolve
falters, my courage flows slowly from
within me.Peace lies at the edge of
a tidal eddy, as the waters chill.

Bring not the sword of bitterness nor
the shield of contempt.Lay the spear
of condemnation at your feet, for I have
broken my own, my upturned and empty
palms greet your eyes.

Walk the trail of slippery stones, feel the
barb of thorns upon the black rose.Taste
the trickle of crimson....Walk my mile
and taste the bitter fruit. Then, join
me or.... cast the next stone into
the mirror
of self reflect.

Oh so good to see your work again, Sir Magnus.

(sigh) Patience is a virtue, as a man once said, the difference between a caucus and a cactus is that a cactus is prickly on the outside! (big hugggsssssss) We will sting along the way but through it all we will find understanding and solace, this is marvelous, I am delighted to see you posting again, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Everytime I read your poems I feel more ready to fight the fight set before me and I feel more humbled and peaceful. Thank you, again, for not failing me with this
So, so, beautiful sir.

Barry, this is so perfectly written. It's so beautiful I almost felt as though I was reading the Bible where Jesus told the people who had no faults to cast the first stone at the woman they had caught in adultery. While He was writing something in the sand, as I'm sure you know, everyone walked away.

Until someone has walked in the shoes of another, they have no right to judge or condemn.......

It's so good to see you posting, friend. I've missed you.

Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Barry - the ultimate quest huh?

Lay the spear
of condemnation at your feet, for I have
broken my own, my upturned and empty
palms greet your eyes.

this just cries . . .

cast the next stone into
the mirror
of self reflect.

loved this - nicely done - yes it was xxoo

Barry,

Triumphant in it's humility. Such wisdom and truth here.

A difficult lesson to look at myself to see how I am like that annoying person in my life.

Glad to see you here. I missed your wonderful work.

Hugs, Pat

Barry~ These thoughts of yours weigh heavy and give me pause.  Life is a slippery slope and uncertain at best.

This moved me deeply.  I hope you're well.
