state of confusion

“R”

With a backward strut,
she wrecks high-noon traffic on Main Street
breaks up a couple holding hands
slams into a man eating a dog
moon-walks against the red
sees only green from her view –

cars block intersections in smoky ruin
horns wail, taxi drivers yell
she doesn’t see or hear them
puts on her headphones
heel-toes onto the curb
tangles with a lady and two leashed poodles

and listens to I Am The Walrus,
this, she understands.

"I Am the Walrus"
Written by Lennon/McCartney
Lead vocal by John Lennon
From the album Magical Mystery Tour

very cool imagery here... I get very vivid pictures of the entire scene. (And I love that song too!)
I also like how "man eating a dog" gives the reader almost a double-take reaction. Nice touch

the only man worth your tears will never make you cry

(smiles) Oh Corinne, I just love this, sweet friend, I am fond of The Beatles greatly and really, anyone could be the walrus and someday you just have to fit those tusks in! (big hugggssssss) This is marvelous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Considering I am the Walrus is one of my absolute favourite Beatles songs and that you are one of my favourite writers I dub this a match made in heaven. grin
