In memory of Ziwar Muhammad Isma'il,
who lived in Zakho, Kurdistan until Iraqi
soldiers in disguise murdered him for
the crime of being the wrong person.

Protest

Subtle
As a manure
Spreader and as fragrant,
Protesters bellow phrases coined
To dignify the Reich. A country’s name,
A president’s, change just those and
It’s nineteen thirty-eight.
Aged manure so…
Subtle.
