* * * *
I actually wrote this last year but have
made a few alterations so I thought I'd
repost it.

* * * *

Do you watch me as I write
On these pages stained in tears
Did you think I would forget you
After so many wonderful years

Do you see me as I grieve
And see my heart break in two
Do you read the words I write
About how much I still love you

Please tell me what you're thinking
Dad, have I made you proud
Was that your image I just saw
Behind that big white cloud

Do you smile down on me
From heaven up above
When the rain falls down upon me
Are you showering me with love

Are you that blackbird in my garden
Who sings a sweet melodious song
Are those your arms I feel around me
When I struggle to be strong

I see your image in so many things
And remember your heart so warm and true
I search deep inside my memory
Where I know that I'll find you

Pictures of you adorn my home
Your image smiles at me each day
You're still a part of my life
In my heart is where you'll stay

I hope the words I write
Reflect the love I have for you
I hope others have formed an image
From the words that they view

Please don't leave me lonely
Keep the candle burning bright
'tho life is sometimes out of focus
You'll always be my guiding light

Please keep me safe in your memory
For once again there'll be us two
In that place way over the rainbow
Eternally united me and you

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

I am sure your father remembers you and is proud of you, Sue. He loves you every bit as much as you love him.

Sue...
This caught me off guard, and put a severe lump in my throat... You have expressed my feelings as well as I ever could. Please know that your father is with you always, and sees what is going on in your life. He will always be there for you.. all you have to do is ask.
Hugs- Ringo

Hello Sue ~~ I remember this poem and loved it then as now. You know your Dad is proud of you he watches over you, Andrew and your daughter with a great big smile on his face.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the pictures. I thought you'd love to see all our snow!!   Huggles my friend, Marti

Beautiful Sue. I miss my Dad to-night, and my Mom. I know that they are smiling down on me just as your father is on you. This gets my vote through tears. Chris

I remember this one Sue...
and it touched me tonight just as it did the first time.
Wise choice for the book.

Sue,
You picture our fathers best in our memories! What a blessing. Excellent. He would be so proud. I'm voting now.

I am so overwhelmed by the response to this poem, which means so very much to me.  My father meant the world to me and I just felt the need to convey to others the love I felt and still feel for him.

This is a little something for all of you.

for it alone takes them
and joins them by what
