Why must I always quest symmetry and balance
from the discordant cacophony of humanity,
hoping to achieve some personal harmony?

In nature, I sometimes seek that elusive four-leaf clover
while the impudent bonsai laughs at me,
for it cares naught for bilateral symmetry,
nor does the magestic Sequoia tree.

And I cannot deny the balance and harmony that
lies within the unity of diversity.

Black is white.
One absorbing, one reflecting
the whole spectrum of reality.

The kinetic energy of the sea teems
with layers of life's variety
interspersed in a fluidity
I can barely comprehend,
one which I cannot live within or without
and yet I sense its in constant harmony.

The skies are filled with
Otherworldly spirits dancing constantly
'round my electrified body and soul.
These spirits never appear visually balanced,
darting capriciously left and right,
enticing and teasing me to seek
rapprochement within my own inner reality.

So while I sometimes mistakenly seek harmony
from worldy discordant cacophony,
it is within my own heart
I always find my balance and harmony,
my unique symmetry.

Kacy,
I loved the awesome imagery about the bonsai tree...a thought-provoking write much appreciated by this reader...and of course, it's always best to depend on oneself for answers huh?

It's good to know.

wonderful write...as I myself have wondered about balance, harmony, black and white, and symmetry

(sigh) Oh Kacy, I have always found balance to be an overrated word, it makes me think of the cosmological argument of the existence of God, and how they say if no First Mover was present or First Being, all contingent things would cease to exist, as if nothing is self-sufficient and only some magnetic force gives us balance! (big huggsssssss) I don't believe in balance and symmetry, all I believe in is harmony, the harmony in being free, yay, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

thanks and hello to everyone here! Each of you offer your own piece of unity, your own POV, and that helps me maintain my sense of 'balance' and feel the harmony within the universe.

You write so well with great vision and imagery of inner peace.  I always enjoy.  Ken
