Days fold into years
withered and bent
in wind of hesitation
upon branches
of a rootless tree

The cloudbreak
reveals glimmering sun
it's warmth felt
on tired petals
and I think to myself

This,
could be the day......

{"And the day came when the risk to remain tight
in a bud was more painful than the risk it took
to blossom"
~Anais Nin~}

Ok this is an edit and repost from Open 23 or 24. The reason for posting this is twofold, the obvious one being the edit and tightening of words and the second to show that, though rarely, there are glimmers of hope and it is possible for me to write a semi-upbeat poem.

(sigh) Oh Raphael, this is wonderful, sweet friend, hope is ever so abundant, it's just ones heart and courage in accepting it that makes the chasms and erosion and how believing can clear the construction! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Raphael, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

lol @ your reply to sue. i like you the way ya are raph, you help us all feel were not the only ones. a poem with hope, that you sometimes say you don't have, but i know better.

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

Down deep in everyone there is a glimmer of light or hope, and I loved the way you "squeezed" it out of an abyss for this one.

I feel the same way, the good days are few and far between, but when they are upon us we should take the time to make that day last forever.

Raph,

Liked this a great deal. The wind of hesitation gives us time to grow. I see you as very rooted. Love your poetry.
