~*~

In mid of nite
When all is still,
A poet's hand
Dost reach for quill.
The words do flow
From quiet mind,
Mots of wisdom
For all mankind.
As if 'twere seen
Thru' artist's eye,
The poet's words
Doth paint the sky.
Ofttimes inspired
By signs divine,
His words endure
'Til end of time.

yes i know, like late night, middle of night,
getting the urge,
to purge,
a calling
coming with a surge...good words ringing true

Linda, you said the way poets feel so well. I like the words you used, too. It was like reading one of the classical poems, and I love those.
Thank you, Lady....

Exactly! I sometimes get a cosy feeling when I write at night. I think of all the other poets who may be writing instead of sleeping. Sometimes I even get an image of Nostradamus writing his quatrains by candlelight so long ago...

~ May poetry always be a part of who you are...

Have a happy day!

Ethel ~

I love to use Olde English--it romanticizes whatever one writes.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

~ May your heart be forever open so that love will flow from it to your pen...

Have a glorious weekend!

(sigh) Oh Linda, I too am an insomniac poet, dearest friend, I write many of my best pieces late at night because I stay up till 3 A.M almost every night because of the nightmares and seizures and horrors I had in my childhood and so I know I must be acquainted with the night and stay up so I can overcome the fear! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I can't decide which best I love
Your phrases ring with might and truth
For so we all must write forsooth

Ahhh these are classic lines, friend, one of my favorite of yours.  Ken J

Noah ~

I am a creature of the night!---and the day!
I sleep very little! I do not want to waste a precious hour. I love the stillness of the night---it gives me clarity of thought and that is when I am at my most creative.

I feel very calm and peaceful at this moment.
Tonight may be one of those special nights when the poems write themselves...
