Steamy summer nights
spent outside my bedroom window
on the slant of the front porch roof.

Thrilled with my 13 year old rebellion.
Just a touch of fear at the thought
of my mothers face if she caught me here.

Watching the clouds in the night sky
as they slid silently, distorting the face
of the man in the moon.

The feel of the shingles against my bare toes.
The sound of a car on a distant street.
The smell of dew covered grass in the air.

A smile, at the ability to close my eyes
and bring this memory...

         right here...
             right now...
      Just 20 short years later...

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.

This is too cool. I have the exact same memories except it was the roof in the back of my house and just a few more years ago, but hey who's counting?
