The crack
of my hands
is deafening
in this still night

A deep ache
in the small of my back
tells me
I should be lying still

Eyes
burning
red

Am I awake or is this a dream?

Numbness
tingling
up my arm

I need another cigarette
and something
to quench this addiction

Damn, I know this place.

Where one shuffles a deck a knuckles.

Very nice write, Littlewing.

This does not sound like a very peaceful night!
Before you go to bed at night, why not have a nice warm bath with some lavender essential oil added to it, then drink some warm milk sweetened with vanilla and honey, do some deep breathing exercises, meditate on a beautiful place where you would love to be and then picture yourself there, listen to the waves of a sound machine-- and drift off to la-la land! If those suggestions don't work, knock back a pint of beer, a magnum of champagne and a mickey of gin then take 2 aspirins and call me in the morning!

P.S. I think knuckle cracking is only for the brave of heart--not for the feint of heart like myself! tehe

Interesting piece of writing!

Sweet dreams!...

(sigh) Oh Sue, this is powerfully haunting, sweet friend, I know this haunting feeling and I hope this all blows by now with comfort and rest! (big hugggsssss) This is poignant, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Very good write, littlewing...
your pen name reminds me of the small mayflies
that will soon come to dip into our summer tea...
