Streaming sun blistering,
Storms thundering on the horizon,
Sounding off with anticipation.
Streams of dust baking,
Sterile scene bleached off white.

Fast moving wall of water,
Flooding from mountains hideouts
From torrential downpours comes
Foaming suffocation,
Fearsome flow of devastation.

Blossoming desert of renewed life,
Brilliant colors of revitalization,
Budding cactus flowers,
Bursting hidden vegetation,
Brief display of a desert paradise.

Winds drying up moisture,
Washing away tear drops,
Whispers again hiding,
Weather blaring in heat strokes,
Wounded plants again wilting.

Night skies so crystal clear,
Never has so many stars been visible.
Noises from animals awakened,
Noting the evening chill,
Nuzzling their existence.

Full moon rising to coyote howls.
Flames from a campfire crackling,
Frames of words creating vivid images,
Finding truth in someone’s expressions.
For tranquility is in the moisture of living.
