Rushed
out the door

Flying . . .

I see
the sun setting rapidly
in this bleak winter sky

The small hand
that is held tightly within my own
is forgotten

For the moment . . .

I turn
and stare
and smile

This hand
which held mine
throughout this frenzied day of adults
stood in a knee deep puddle of water

I wanted to shout
yet something held me . . .

I jumped into the puddle
and we laughed
splashed another
and he smiled
Only for me
only for me

Nothing like that smile. . .

Today
through the eyes of a child
I realized

Life is but a freeze frame
those moments to be savored
for eternity . . .

(I dont know what you can call this but had to get it down - just happened today)

Just like a long long movie, life is frame after frame that just appears to move when flashed in sequence...love this SUE...

Poetry like this doesn't need to be labeled. It's a slice of life..I love it. Wish I could have seen the look in his eyes too.

Nicely penned. Hope you really do freeze the best moments in your mind, as it's true, they aren't repeated.
I am enjoying your poetry, Sue littlewing!
