~* If All My Wishes Could Come True *~

If all my wishes could come true
when I wished for anything,
I’d wish to see each human smile
and light to this darkness bring.

I’d wish to heal all hearts in pain,
and hold every, single lonely hand.
I’d wish for total harmony,
and peace throughout this land.

I’d wish everyone knew his name,
and never, ever would forget.
They’d think of him in reverence
when they see the day's sun set.

Each person filled with hate
I’d wish them one perfect dream.
To those so hard on themselves,
I’d wish some solid self-esteem.

I'd wish that every wish tonight
made upon a shooting star
would come true for everyone,
being part of their memoir.

I'd wish that all lonely people
walking along the streets today,
Find someone to share their life with,
loving them until their dying day.

I’d wish there always be rainbows
and brilliant stars up in our sky,
I’d wish everyone we love were safe,
but should they leave we can say goodbye.

And, finally, I'd wish that all the hate
be extinguished by his love.
I wish that evil finally surrenders
And bows to the almighty above.

I’d wish these things sincerely,
but our lives can only be
determined by those wishes
that we make become our reality.

Oh, Mysteria, these wishes are so needed right now, in these times of trouble. I have wished the same things, many times, but my main wish is for them all to become reality, as you said. What a wonderful and insightful poem this is...a true gem.

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Sharon, that is exactly why I have been so passionate about peace lately, it saddens me to see war being considered when I feel it would only create so much more violence and feel this could be the fuel for World War III if our leaders can't give it up! (sad sigh) I too wish for this ever so much, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

I'd wish for lazer guns instead of hands. Heh, just kidding. You're quite the altruistic one, aren't you? This is sweet, but know that wishes don't just come true... we have to make them come true, and what changes we can make in our short lives will inspire the hearts of others to carry on our ideals in generations thereafter.

It's the ripple effect... all it takes is a little action for all your wishes to come true, even if you're not alive to see them.

Your tender heart is genuinely expressed here I believe as I too share in these your wishes. Set apart from the many more complicated poems that I have read, I love the simplicity here in this poem and I think it would compliment the book very nicely.

Michael, I started early with wishing on a star, and graduated to wishing on anything. I even wish for you to get "hole in ones" or is that "holes in one"
