The Poets Enemy

Trying to remain calm
Hiding my frustration
Writer's block arrived
Without any invitation

It gatecrashed again
An unwelcome guest
Hindrance it became
Like an irritating pest

Preventing  progress
Showing no concerns
Nothing explains why
Writer's block returns

Its  refusing to budge
When I need to write
Putting up resistance
Hogging the limelight

Causing poetic wrath
Seething in the soul
Intruding on the mind
It attempts to control

Teasing , tormenting
It gives no sympathy
Cruelly it traps minds
Being a poets enemy

And THEN...it allows us
to write ONLY of it!
Cheeky little devil!
Enjoyed, Hope!  Thank you!

This is a great read, I think we've all suffered at the hands of writers block, thanks for sharing this with us.
