Christmas day calm
saturday morning cartoon fests
hide and go seek till dusk
The Flinstones at lunchtime
Ernie but not Bert
unlocked doors and friendly neighbours
high school (kinda)
porches on a summer's night
the crackle of vinyl records
lying on mediterranean beaches
diving into the waves
the smell of old books
holding hands
panting and afterglow
my name whispered in my ear

your smile

your love

you..

I don't know if this poetry? I know it's

Raph, I loved the poem about things you love and miss....I also like the way you tapered it off to one word. Really neat...

Raph - you just brought me back to some memories there - I think all of us miss so many of the same things . . .

lol @ Bert silly

The ending - my heart sank with you - I am speechless - sorry that it is but a memory for you - wishing it wasnt - I feel the ache in those last words

This was excellent - as always - xxoo

Raph,

One of the things I love is this poem.
Terrific! I too.liked the ending, though sad. I like the porch and and diving into waves, especially.

Enjoyed, Hugs, Pat

This was a triple "R" piece--Real Raw Write!
A slice of your reality with which many of your readers could undoubtedly identify--I know I certainly did. You evoked emotions and memories which, in my mind definitely marks this write as poetry.

Sending you some dew drops to ease your stinging eyes---and I shall keep some for myself...

Warm morning hugs,

I realize I don't respond to your stuff as much as I should, because I do read it all.  I love this and most all of your work. You almost always hit a nerve of understanding.

Gemma hot under the collar no no no..um..why did it work? You should know my poems end on a bittersweet note by now. One day i'm truly going to surprise eveyone and write something happy or full of hope!

Bert better?! You're insane, ah well everybody's entitled to their own opinion i guess, however insane they may be..

Sue I see you as mental all right..and what's wrong with watching sesame street? It's very progressive what with the same sex relationship of Ernie and Bert, the delusions of Big Bird (yeah of course you see a giant whooly mammoth we believe you) The conjoined twin monster, and Oscar the homeless guy everything in life is covered..

(big hugggssssss) Oh Raphael, I too miss so many of these things, dearest friend, life should be far more simplistic just like this as I hate to move on from all of this too! (sad sigh) Very well-said, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Raphael, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Well you list certainly conjured up great memories for me, but the list I have is way different than yours.  I like your idea of a list of things you hate you don't miss, and I think you should start one in the forum and we all add to it, since it was our idea.  I bet it will grow as long as the Geography thread.

Now that you've distorted my childlike view of Sesame Street *sigh*...well at least you didn't diss poor sweet Elmo!

As I was remembering your list of things you miss...I was drawing back into my memory bank...till the end of your poem I was brought back to reality with a slam against the brick wall in my head.  Love the way you brought everything to one word...

Great job...can't we vote????

KristieSue sorry if i spoiled it for you, you really shouldn't mind me I'm just insane, and as for Elmo..sigh I once worked in the toy division of a dept. store..well i was there during the tickle me elmo phase and all its offshoots. The company the makes them decided it would be best to put a TRY ME label on the box..add that to the general stupidity of kids and parents who thought it would be funny to hear them all go off at once..do you have any idea what 50 Elmo's going off at once sounds like. the little @&$#&# is satan in my eyes..calm down raph..i'm ok...i'm ok
