Gently Into The Night

So gently into the night
creep visions, lost to the sun
of daylights commotion

So gently into the night
come memories thought to be hidden
behind layers of dust

So gently into the night
sneaks ghost of your passing
haunting my dreams forever

So gently into the night
I slip, to welcome you home
and pray for dawn to never come

~ Ruth

Ruth,

Very soft and lovely.

The last three lines, my favorite.

Enjoyed greatly, Hugs, Pat

(smiles) I just love the "fluency" your poetry always has, all the colors seem to merge and such beauty is always fingerpainted from your heart! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ruth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thank you everyone, I must say I'm surprised at the response to this as I wrote it in less than 5 minutes as a reply to dhicks03's poem, it's amazing how sometimes ideas just come to you and other times one can't write for months

This is an amazingly beautiful piece of writing. The title reminded me of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, but I liked this poem better.
