Reach

The shuddered breath of misery
The cold air of the dawn
The shadow lit beneath our fears
As old and new times spawn

Whispered in forsaken paths
An echo of the key
The piece sewn shut, by the touch
Your breath swept down on me

I see your shadow in the sky
That reach to make us whole
Time can't mend these bitter wounds
That scar my heart and soul

I sit through endless silent nights
The stars create stasis
As the blankets laced with pain
Become moments to miss

Moments reaching, yet never finding
