~* Dreams Of Eagles *~

Last night I dreamt I was an eagle
Flying high ‘ore the raging sea.
A journey I won’t soon forget
For such wonders did I see.

I soared in evening’s sunset,
Over mountaintop and sand,
Looking down on peace
As darkness fell upon the land.

And way beyond this sunset
Above the earth so very far
I soared away from all the evil
And any thoughts of war.

I landed in a serene, green forest
Only quiet and peace lived there.
I rested by a raging waterfall
Forgetting fear rising everywhere.

Soon I flew above some dolphins
As they danced in graceful play
Hearing their silent message
That they didn’t need to say.

Taken back by a sunrise
None more beautiful in dreams
I realized at that moment
Life is much more than it seems.

I realized then so very tenderly
there were many things I never knew
simple things I'd missed in life -
That dreams of eagles take you to.

The eagle spread his wings, and flew away
As just one simple feather floated free
A gift of freedom he must have left
As a souvenir for me.

I'll never, ever be the same
As I know one day again, I'll fly
Where the heartbeat of the water
Joins body’s spirit to the sky.

Sharon this is so beautiful and if only we could soar away from it all. But seems only in our minds!

Above the earth so very far
I soared away from all the evil
And any thoughts of war.

I actually did have this dream last night that I was an eagle flying all over the world and wish I could have told you what I saw in the faces of the people I saw too, but it wasn't there to put down for some reason.

I guess it was after seeing the news and subconciously wishing for peace that this dream came about.  Glad you enjoyed it.

I really love the images and feelings I get from this
I especially loved the last lines...
"Where the heartbeat of the water
Joins body’s spirit to the sky."
Wonderfully written!

Why...why?  Is this not a book submission?
Let me know when you change your mind, 'cause I'll be back to sign it again...

You are simply marvelous...

I am so glad you all enjoyed this - I am practicing for Kit's visit, that girl rhymes all day (maybe I will learn something)

Sunshine, it is not a book submission because I already put way too many - but thank you anyway.  I will be happy if even one gets in there for the grandkids one day.

Now...I hope you all let go of your worries, for there is absolutely nothing you can do about them, and go fly like an eagle.

To all of you - I can tell that you have flown with eagles (at least in your sleep) and I only wish that the beauty and peacefulness of our dreams can become a reality.  Thanks so kindly for reading this.

That dreams of eagles take you to.
