Between the Lines

Yesterday's View

There are differences too great at times,
between the one I wish to be.
My thoughts caress the hints of you,
that never reached that depth of me.

It's painful loving shadow's walk.
It steps upon the time in hold.
A fear of loving, that which balks,
freezes once a feel of bold.

Escaping thoughts that ride my mood,
priceless too, your picture shared.
Haunted by the view of past,
I touch the edges, darkly squared.

I, handicapped, emotions run
from hot to cold to lukewarm feel,
wandering the dark alone,
searching for the switch to real.

I sleep with just a touch of light
dimmed, to slow my dreams each night.
Wanting them to stay their path
and keep away aloneness fright.

How strange the pain from pleasure drawn
that never had a chance to be...
My thoughts caress the hints of you,
that never reached that depth of me.

I like this very much, totally blew me away. The wording was perfect. Not to put the poem down but to me its summed up in two lines

My thoughts caress the hints of you,
that never reached that depth of me

knocks me for six each time.Brings a picture of a calm lake and your knelt at the side looking into your soul, and u see the reflection of the one you love trying to reach out, but skimming the water and each time watching the ripples disturb the reflection of your soul. Just a picture, pity wasnt in fewer words, Thank you very much for giving me these thoughts

Thanks Lori..felt like posting today while I try to wake up.

prof. those two lines were the  ones I wanted to get across and that is why they are repeated. Thank you for your kind response.

Thank you Toe, I wish I could say I put a lot of time into it..but this  was one of those that just wrote itself *s

Marge, thank you. The line sort of kills me too when I think of what could have been.
