The lovers there within winter,
eyes of frost nearby the flame.
Icicles that drip with tears
as they melt again.

Windblown snow to build them up,
swept down from the tree-stand hills.
Piled on the cabin roofs --
crusted, cracked by forest chills.

Hear them on the frozen river.
Crossing footpath bridges over.
The lovers there within winter
killed the 'slippers and the clover.

They are lovers within l'automne.
when the trees are fire blossoms.
They are lovers within printemps
when the rain shines and thunder stomps.
They are lovers within l'ete
when the night is brighter than the day.
They are lovers within l'hiver
when the paths are snowed away.

The lovers there within winter
kiss with mints throughout December.
Iced up windows, turned opaque --
January finally breaks.
And as February dawns
they lament they will be gone.

Back to mud and slush so soon.
Both reborn beneath the moon.

I know it's over.

Thanks for that groovy guy.

Glad to see you all here. Littlewing, nice to see you part of the site, and nakdthoughts, I took five years of French in my life ... and I'm lucky to remember even the seasons.

Thanks all, for reading.

I know it's over.
