~A Nightmare I once had for a week straight~

DEATH'S DOOR

I hold the hand of death and stand before him in judgement.
I am led through the halls of my eternal stay.
I see those whom I've known before, among the wickedness of this place.
Their voices surround me, piercing my brain.
They scream out the sins of my youth without cease.
Have i lived life in torment,
So that I may be tormented in death?
I sheild my ears from them, but they linger in my head, as if they were my own.

The hall is long and without end.
My body boils with each passing step.
I cannot breath, for the blackness in the air is thickening.
The voices now seem to be scolding me.
Vicious and cold are their words,
Drudging up emotions within me,
That I've never before experienced.

I stand fast in hopes to stop the circling.
I become light and without feeling.
The sensation's unlike numbness,
I am now scared.
Am I gone?
Or just now, starting to slip into my sleep?

Before me, a room which is blackened without view.
The stentch of dead heated flesh, in the air.
I am guided through the door.
As I step through the mouth of the room,
My skin grows like ice.
The door is shut....
And the voices still taunt me in the dark.

If Hamlet was right, and it is better
"to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them" ...
Then you shall have no troubles this night, my friend.
A very well written look into your fears.
