Looking out the livingroom window
through a glass that needs a good cleaning,
I am reminded of how often my gaze
is projected through murkiness and dust,
viewing the world colored in the rust and black
that overshadows all the loveliest hues
of the rainbow gifted to us
by someone... or something
that rests beyond our visual fields.
And I know that a really deep good cleaning
can work both ways...
to enhance the view of beauty and world peace,
or simply magnify the worst things in life
that keep us from sharing
the bounty of the world equally.
So I think I'll leave my windows dirty
for a few more years,
until the outside view defines itself more clearly
in the direction of beauty, love, and peace.

I'm tired of endless housekeeping duties.

Me too on housework! I have the same attitude about my rose colored shades..why not make things look just a little better.

Perfect poem for today.  That's all I've been doing.  I'm with you, maybe I'll wait a couple of more years as well.

I can relate to this! Poets see beauty through their hearts, so the window can wait .... (aren't we good in finding excuses for not doing it?!)
Enjoyed it!

(big hugggsssssss) They say cleanliness is next to godliness, with all the dirt going around the media and the world it seems God seems so alone right now and desperate for our attention! (sad sigh) This is so well-said, sweet friend, I like the gentle sarcasm in this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

LOL, this was one of those writes that refused to stay on the shelf this AM.
Anyone know a housekeeper who likes to do windows?

Raph, get an empty coffee can and trap that critter and evict him from your room. A new version of catch and release....LOL
