standing on a shadow's lace

Embracing

I sat quietly by the window
as I heard the rumbling
a storm brewing on the horizon
a true fight of wills
the tempest was coming
and I stood ready
water sprayed windows with teardrops
and thunder fell in defiance
wanting a way of logic
but there is no reasoning in nature
it flows and burns at will
I raised the windows wide
wind swirled the room
leaving all in disarrangement
but I …am settled

I think I can picture you. I can picture you quiet and peaceful.. no matter what.. head tucked to the paper you're righting.. embraced by thoughts.
I see you in what you write. I like that, thank you.

Always, Alyssa
