Listening to every heart

A Slip of Poem…

Unlike a fragrant
Ladyslipper,
A slip of poem
Will not perish…

It travels simply,
Whether in one’s pocket,
Or heart,
And is reminisced easily
In one’s mind.

A slip of poem
Brings with it
Tender thoughts,
And winsome wonderings

It can be a gift,
Or solace
It can speak for
One’s mind

Leaving nothing to the
Imagination

Or tell of love
Unrequited

A slip of poem
Can be an introduction
Or a goodbye.

More than a hallmark,
It is knowing
That one cared enough
To pen the very best…

And this is why
I care to leave
A slip of poem.

Your poem makes me want to carry a pad of paper around with me.  I sometimes come up with what I believe is a good idea, and then simply forget it.
