Living life in a trailer park
I've talked to dead scholars
Seen love affairs spark.
Stared at the pyramids grandeur all day
I have even
Been a citizen
Of the tragic Pompeii.
Barely lived from mission to mission-
Worked on the prarie-
Survived prohibition.
Sat in the jungle-
The one upright man
While the rest of my crew...
At thick , hot quicksand.
I was ceasar's true friend
when the rest would conspire.
I've been the local mad hatter
And your gun for hire-
A cracked genius killer
Square-jawed super sleuth-
I'm the smug kid who hands you...
Your first knocked out tooth.
A fat southern preacher-
Rich , suave connosuier
I've been hook, line and sinker-
As well as the lure.
A famous performer
That left you in awe
I've been the man on the penny,
And the girl you don't call.
On the Titanic with the doomed passengers
I've been the trapped-
And the trapper
Of all those fine furs.
An old english maid steadily scrubbing the floor
A new fab designer no one's heard of before
The first woman president of the United States
Part of the elite greek mythology's Fates.
I'm the face you pick out
Of thousands of faces...
Bet you don't even know -
I have cartoon shoelaces.
I'm the owner of that diner
That you always seem to haunt
I'm the girl you see crying
Running from a resturant
See, I've been the UFO
You know you thought you saw-
The unwisher of your ill wishes;
Bringer of the Monkey's paw
I'm the glimmer you catch
Off that uncatchable trout-
I'm the child-like old woman
Time forgot all about.
Your villian or heroine
I'll be to the last-
But I'll never be
Anybody's "poor white trash"
The world is just a ball of yarn
Meant for you to unravel.
Oh! And another thing...
You don't need cash to travel.
