Yesterday we had fifteen minutes of hailstorm it was a reminder to me me that our battered land may be even more ravaged by the threat of war, as if drought and hailstones were not enough. Hence this poem.

I am a mage of thunder
heralding, this ancient war,
no going round or under
to do what has been done before.

no hand of hope, to guide me
I ride the storm in foreign lands;
the storm, unleashed, is set free,
for I am called to make demands

and bring about a warning,
for all the world to look and see.
See, the hailstones forming
a symbol of what is to be

Hear the distant rumble,
as all are called to go to war
and feel the earth's crust crumble,
as you march to where you've been before.

See the lightening flashing,
blazing on a foreign shore
and hear the thunder crashing,
as you march on, heedless, to war.

The clime in diverse places
echoes out the warning bold.
As they, the mages of thunder, races
to tell the tale of cruel war's hold

Yet you don't take warning,
won't heed the seas or skies
the battles lines are forming
that drown my portent cries.

I, thunder mage am silent;
the warnings all are given
Yet listen to the wind's bent
We meet, the other side of heaven.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
