Saluting with misty eyes

The Other Day

I saw you again the other day
Were you meant to be seen
You came back to let me know you still cared
Can you know what’s in my life
Do you see what’s in my heart
Or is it hidden from behind the walls of Sleep
Here, in World and Time, I was but to ask
But you knew I was too proud
Too stubborn in my own lies to know
Weak in my knowledge to understand
The veil covering your eyes
Cleared my vision that I might see you there beside me
You looked on when I, as a child, turned away
Now I, still as your child, turn to you to ease my pain
Father, I cannot do this alone
But you knew that all the while
You showed me you were here
Because when I look over at that same spot
The reminder is there
I saw you again the other day

Very thought provoking and well done. Welcome to Passions, and thanks for reading my poem about my Grandmother.

We see with our inner eye the things not of this world and we take comfort in the seeing. Well done

This poem is very touching. I enjoyed.

Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent.

Ringo - this is lovely - I often have the same feelings - a constant reminder - a service flag draped in front of me - not quite as insightful as yours - but still . . . I know he is watching too xxoo
