Isn't God Listening
~ By Sue ~

I had a conversation with a friend
There was a question I did not understand
Why is it, with so many people praying
That God does not seem to be answering

There is nothing that God can not do
Why doesn't he hear me and you
So many people pray each and everyday
And he said all we have to do is pray

I know that God can do anything
But, he doesn't seem to be listening
To me, this just does not make sense
This has always kept me in suspense

Back in the biblical times he healed so many
For him to heal today, there are plenty

Smart question, but who are we to question why? Good write.

God gave me a clear answer in the silence of the trial. He said "wait"
so... I'm waiting, I still don't know what for.
But I know I've seen others drawn to Him because of my own suffering. Its not in vain. Keep faith
Enjoyed this write.

The question of the ages...
Unfortunately, likie most kids, we get told "no" too often for our own likings.
Defiately a peom to ponder.

Possible Answer: Most people pray Sunday, the day the guy set apart as his day off. I'd be grouchy too. Course he mellowed out so he doesn't get that upset anymore, what we need is a good old fashinied locust plague thingy

Or

There alternatives and other belief systems

(big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, all you must do is ask and He swears He will get to you and you will be given the remedy of strength and love! (sigh) He listens to all, it just takes a little patience, God Bless You, you are loved by many, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sue, I get very impatient sometimes when I'm waiting. I really do pray for myself about that, though, because the Bible says that "tribulation worketh patience"....and, God knows, I've had enough tribulation in my life. Or, I think so, anyway.

This is a very heartfelt poem, friend, and my prayers are with you...

Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Many years ago when I was going through a divorce I found myself praying a lot and wondering why God wasn't answering my prayers and it suddenly dawned on me that God doesn't choose sides...as much as I wanted my wife back...and believe me I prayed constantly and I had others praying in agreement with me...she didn't want to be with me...so why should God force her...why should he favor my desires over hers...God sees things from a different perspective...James

Sue - He is listening. He just works in mysterious ways - as it is written. But, it does make you wonder doesn't it? hugs to you my friend, Chris

which version of God did you consult? I'm not trying to be a smartass, just pondering why each person/culture assumes their GOD is the ultimate power of this universe and beyond.
If I were God?
I'd probably say NO...I'm on vacation, please leave me alone until you get the QUESTION right.
So I left the room and asked God if he wanted a nice soothing mineral bath.

...just my thoughts.

I think we expect certain answers, or a straight yes or no from God.  We are looking so intently for that, that we miss the answer we actually get.  Also, sometimes "wait" is exactly the answer we get (although we hate to hear).  I believe that God hears us, and I also believe that He answers...I think I just need to fine-tune my ears sometimes :-)

Over the past two weeks I've prayed and prayed and prayed that God will heal my boyfriend... I'm missing him horribly, but for some reason I have to be patient.  I was satisfied when He told me He wouldn't take Will away from me, and now all I can do is be patient.  It's so so hard.
I wish sometimes that God would be like, "you'll have him back on such and such a day" but He's not like that :/
Just know that you're not alone and that He is listening no matter what time of week it is, or what time of day or night it is. *hugs*  Beautiful write.

I am told that God hears and answers all prayers.Sometimes the answer is no.
