There you sit, on my end table, beside my bed.
You smile, but do not say a word.  You stare
into my eyes, waiting for a kiss that I dare not give
to you, regardless of my emotions and my
desire to gently grace your lips.  I will love
you for as long as the lakes glisten
with light from the moon.  The tranquil waters
gently flow, creating a magical light show
that I can see in you eyes.  The lonesome
fisherman finds great peace,
sitting there alone, he studies the lake,
allows his mind to wonder and dream of
things that only the water's mystery can allow.
There you sit, on my end table, beside my bed.
You smile, but do not say a word.
All I have left are pictures.

As you speak,  your voice is carried
through the wind.  The hairs on my
neck and arms stand up in anticipation, teasing
me as if you had just kissed my cheek, grazed softly by my hand,
or had given me an amiable, kindhearted embrace.
Slowly, the winds cease and I am able to control
the elation.  The gusty winds will forever blow, and I will
endlessly be reminded of your song and
the feelings they transcend.
As you speak, your voice is carried
through the wind.
All I have left are whispers.

There, you sit, on my end table, beside my bed.
You smile, but do not say a word.
As you speak, your voice is carried
through the wind.
I will forever be left with pictures, whispers, and my tears.

For some reason, my comments didn't post before.  My apologies.
This was a beautiful write...filled with tender emotions, in a sea of powerful longing. TD

Nostalgic, but beautiful imagery,
like love is.
Warm hugs,
Etain.
