I got up this morning and told me it would be a wonderful day
From experience I've learned not all days begin or end that way
I won't think about that. I'll try to find where I left the sun's ray
Ouch, I forgot to close the cupboard door, saw stars in reds and gray

Decided to grind coffee beans for a fresh brew to calm nerves that fray
Beans in push start ground coffee all over the room, forgot the tray
I can't believe it could get way over there..coffee-bean spray
Ok that mess cleaned up and the coffee perking keeping gloom at bay

Guess I'll make bread. Get machine out, start filling pan, a snap you say
Everything going great then my hand jerked and yeast did stray
All over the table and floor another mess to clean and another delay
Finally the machine baked the bread and I'm ready..nay

I shake the pan to release the loaf. Come out I begin to pray
It comes loose and I turn it up side down on the table to lay
But only the center! the outside stuck in the pan and will stay
This loaf will be eaten in hunks. I won't be baking another today

Believe it or not I still have many hours left to replay
Who knows what I can get myself into, time to be gay
Oh, I stubbed my toe going up to bed, singing and walking..I pay
Well, tomorrows another day. Guess I'm ready..come what may

Sounds like a bad day.  Hope the next is better.  Very good use of description.

Well, bless my soul! Mother Earth is back! I have missed you and had been wondering how you have been doing!
Enjoyed this slice of your life. Your poems are so homespun and earthy.
