I sat there reading poetry
and washing down peanut M&M's
with a strawberry soda
while I was supposed to be working

He ran into the room
arms lifted up wildly
with a look of urgency on his face
eyes were bulging, face was red...

'Oh my', I thought to myself, 'what is it this time?'

'The National Weather Center has
just issued a winter weather alert!
It will be here soon!'

A glint of joy in his eyes,
like he had predicted this bad weather
himself instead of pulling it
off the internet....

How very funny, I thought to myself as
I got into my car to go home, and a
snowflake landed on my nose....

And I wished on that snowflake -
maybe this complex man,
in his complicated mind,
will find joy & peace tonight -
knowing that he predicted the weather...

LOL Sometimes I can predict the weather from my parents arthuritis. I really liked this poem.

Cold hands means a warm heart
