I listened to coyotes Until the interstate lines Followed during the day Began to blur closed eyes And I slid miles passed years In dreams of moving cattle On dusty days where a water tank Became your bath And shaking the dust out Of sun fades shirts Was doing laundry Lacey’s porch Moved from the where I was To the where I was going And the distance there Divided by lines on white paper That read “Travis, I’ve gone with Davis but will be home Tuesday. Please stay, I want to talk.” Even sleep Folded and unfolded the square Into shapes resembling Crooked arroyos on Dry moonscapes I woke up about 3am Moonblack night Hemmed in by the narrow valley Didn’t leave much for me to see But I found the truck And the bottle I had stuck Under the seat somewhere East of Tulsa Leaning against the wall I sat on her porch And started to sip easy On the scary smooth Knowing I wasn’t smooth But I sure was scared. I wasn't sure I could take any more canyons eroded into my life and if she told me what I was afraid of I knew there was going to be a new one [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (02-27-2003 05:01 PM).] |

 (sigh) That's all what life is, a series of canyons in-between each of the oceans and mountains, that we must cross and get to know the coyotes and scorpions! (big hugggsssss) I anxiously await how this canyon will be crossed, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!
