OxyMoron

the tulips
all crowded together
making their
metropolis
along the center
of the land

do they take comfort
in their camaraderie
yet complain
of pinched toes
other woes
like scrambling
for nutrients
for water

and still
they flock together
instead of spreading out
to nearby lands
or more

shying away
from the barrenness
of suburbia
or pastoral lanes
and veins
more distant

have they
been watching
humanity too long
do they fear
the remote
so they cluster
for vogue
for trend
for safety
in numbers?
