I listen to the echoes
In the deserted caverns
Of my mind,
While I kick through
Words moaning unclear visions
Of unfinished phrases
Piled mile-high
Like forgotten litter
Laying like mountains
Blocking my way.

Sickly laughter resonates
From somewhere
In the shadows of time
While a poem
Stubborn and steadfast
Refuses to be written.

Gypsies dance fervently
by candlelight
on my walls and ceiling
While a warmth glow
Illuminates my room.
Will the flickers of flame
Encourage the flow
Of my mysterious wellspring?

There ~ a thought!
Then, sadly brushed aside
Wrinkled up lost
Poem of eclipse
A vantage point forgotten
I can only sigh.
This night grows older
Soon to die in morn’s arms.

A lackadaisical sunset
Sweetly serenades me.
Contently I seek solace in
Nature’s gentle hand.
Where is the spark
To boggle my mind
Before time begins to mock me?
So weary grows my soul
As it weakens without feeling?

Here I sit holding my cup,
Bare-footed and ready
Eyeing the clean white page
That awaits the push and pull
Of a tidal wave of feelings
To wash over this tired mind
With a watercolor brush
And paint me a poem.

(sigh) Oh Sharon, fear not, dearest friend, with your golden heart where gypsies always flitter around, you are bound to find that inspiration always and you can always read and look at art and hear conversations if you still need that spark! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I don't have to paint you a poem.. You've done that quite masterfully all by yourself!!... This is exceptional, my dear friend... It really, really is...

Poem of eclipse...
This is awesome!! Wonderfully done!

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Well thank you all - I couldn't sleep last night so I did the art first, and the thoughts followed.  I am so pleased you enjoyed it.

Ah yes..the dance we do with our muse...
the words that play in our heads and the spark we need to make them fuse with our pen....the process of getting words to paper is heaven and hell.
You captured it well dear poetess...
very cool pic too

Where the touch of lovers end and the soul of friends begin,
there's a need to be separate and a need to be one ...
it's struggle neither wins.

Your palette's magnificent, Mysteria... even if it doesn't give you masterpieces on demand... they're worth the wait! *S*
